Treating the Whole Person
Eating disorders among adults can be extremely complex. Many times individuals face other conditions, such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Combining these with the stresses and challenges of daily life, work and relationships can intensify symptoms. At Walden, we treat the whole person – addressing not only the eating disorder, but any co-occurring conditions or personal issues preventing a lasting recovery.
Every Adult with an Eating Disorder Needs the Right Treatment
Walden provides adults with specialized care uniquely aligned with their background, needs and goals. You will always have the right level of treatment and support that’s easily accessible to you.
Our comprehensive treatment options include:
An individual with an advanced eating disorder, for example, may need inpatient care, while intensive outpatient care is the best fit for someone who can balance treatment with work or school. The road to recovery is not always straight, so patients may require access to higher or lower levels of care as they advance toward recovery.
If You’re an Adult with an Eating Disorder, Care Is Just a Short Drive Away
Walden recognizes the importance of being treated close to home. We want the adults we serve to continue to lead their lives by working and spending time with their families. In fact, family support is an important part of the treatment process.
Individuals with eating disorders do not need more stress in their lives. Having treatment near your home minimizes the pressure of keeping medical appointments and increases the probability that you will continue to seek the exact level of care you need.
Walden has clinics throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut and Georgia. Our 14 locations include two inpatient units, a residential facility and 11 ambulatory care clinics. Patients can receive care in Amherst, Braintree, Milford, Peabody, Waltham and Worcester, Mass.; Guilford, South Windsor and Vernon, Conn., and Alpharetta, Decatur and Dunwoody, Ga.
