The Champion, in Dekalb County, Georgia, recently interviewed an amazing Walden alumni Sam Cannon, who received eating disorder treatment in our Dunwoody, Georgia, location.
“The people at Walden helped me heal in so many ways. I learned to see food as nourishment, not as a way to deal with unpleasant emotions.”

Walden’s Rebekah Doweyko, assistant vice president of clinical operations, was also interviewed for the story and said there is no single reason people experience eating disorders, and “it happens to people of all ages, backgrounds; and no two people experience it the same way.”

A special thank you to Sam for her honesty and bravery in sharing her experience and recovery journey. No doubt it will help others.
