Walden Eating Disorder Center at Rockville Hospital

Our state-of-the-art hospital works with some of the most medically compromised individuals from across the country. We treat teens and adults of all genders and are the first and only dedicated eating disorder hospital in Connecticut. While we are a quick 20-minute drive from the Bradley Airport and just a two-hour drive from New York City and Albany, NY, we work with individuals who have traveled from all over the United States to receive our specialized care. Since we are located within a fully-operational hospital, we can provide medical care in-house without the need for external transfer. Our compassionate and diverse care team including doctors, nurses, mental health counselors, social workers and dietitians and is committed to ensuring that the individuals in our care are as safe and comfortable as possible. You can experience healing and we look forward to supporting you on your path toward recovery.

Joeli McQuaid–Roberts
Program Director
I was born and raised in Rockville and have worked with many different populations in the behavioral health field for more than 25 years, including residential and inpatient levels of care. What I love about our location is that we have access to hospital medical services allowing us to treat those with medically complex needs who may not have access to the same level of specialized care anywhere else. To anyone considering treatment, you deserve recovery. Your health and happiness matter. YOU matter. Our experienced and empathetic care team is dedicated to your safety and recovery. We look forward to meeting you.
What We Offer
This level of care is best suited for adults in need of highly structured, 24-hour medical and psychological monitoring. We work toward medical and psychological stabilization and help you to establish treatment plans and recovery goals as you transition to lower levels of care.
Ideal for teens in need of medical stabilization and highly structured 24-hour support, this program introduces aspects of Family-Based Treatment (FBT) while providing medical and psychological stabilization.
